CFP 2017 IPA Conference

The 2017 edition of the Illinois Philosophical Association meeting will be held at Northern Illinois University, in DeKalb, Illinois on October 21st and 22nd.  (Saturday and Sunday)

The Keynote Speaker is Joseph Keim Campbell, Professor of Philosophy at Washington State University.

The conference is open to all.  The deadline for paper submission is July 15, 2017.  There is also a call for papers for the undergraduate essay prize.  Please submit papers to the IPA Secretary, Jonelle DePetro, at jmdepetro@eiu.edu.

Three important notes about the 2017 IPA:

(1) The conference is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday rather than the traditional Friday and Saturday schedule.

(2) Sunday morning there will be a special session with APA Executive Director Amy Ferrer on the state of philosophy in Illinois.  People interested in participating in that panel discussion should email IPA President, Christopher Pynes, at CA-Pynes@wiu.edu.

(3) On Friday, October 20th, NIU’s Philosophy Department is hosting The Kapitan Conference in honor of Tomis Kapitan.  This conference is open to the public and all IPA participants are welcome.  More information to come.
